I hate almonds lately. My mom is shocked because I used to like EVERYTHING. I'm also not liking cheese slices on my sandwiches....it makes me gag. For once I can't just eat everything in front of me!

I went to the doctor yesterday for a physical (so I can attend a Summer Soccer Camp) and found out I'm in the 70th percentile for height, and 80th percentile for weight. Mommy and Daddy say I have big bones, which make me heavy like a brick, and that I'll probably be taller than Daddy. Andrew is in the 85th percentile for height, so he's probably going to be taller than me...I say that stinks because I'm always trying to catch up with him!

My favorite thing these days is being in the kitchen with Mommy when she's cooking one of her fabulous dinners. I love watching how she cooks. I keep asking her if she'll teach me everything about cooking some day, and even give me her "secrets." I want so badly to be three things when I grow up: a Chef, a builder, and a soccer player. I don't know how I'll do all three, but Mommy says I could be a builder or architect by day (as a job), cook marvelous meals for my family and friends and play on a soccer league on weekends. I love each of them equally, so I wish I could have a kitchen for cooking Chicken Rice Bowls on all the building sites (the smells would be heavenly), and sneak in wild soccer games during my lunch breaks!

My Stargazing Sheep

My brother, Andrew, designed a cool telescope out of construction paper so I decided to make two of my own just like it. My Serta sheep, Junior (#100) & Sheepie (#29) love to do star gazing while I sleep at night. I asked Daddy to take this picture with his iPhone after I set this up today. I think Junior and Sheepie both want to study astronomy when they grow up. My mom says the ancient Mayans were the masters of "Stargazing", and said they gazed at pools of water that reflected the stars and charted & studied them every night. Maybe that's why I love stars, stargazing, and science (and I love that my name is "Sky", too!)

I BEAT DADDY!

I beat my Daddy at chess yesterday! It was the very first time I ever beat him at the game, an now when we play next weekend he will have to sit on the floor and I will get to sit in the big green, comfy chair. Hooo hahahahaha! I am so proud of myself.

Here's me and Mommy doing another weekend snuggle...this was the weekend before last! I came up to Mommy, smelled her and told her she smelled great. I love good smells, even when it's not food.

I sat with Mommy this morning and asked to see my own blog. She showed me, and I asked to look for new photos to post here. These are the ones I picked, and I'm hoping to show these to my teacher, Mrs. Hawking, today. Oh, and say goodbye to the glasses you see in these pictures...I had to get my 4th new pair in 6 months and we're still waiting for them. My mom and dad are making we wear plastic frames now, but I really like the ones we picked out. Maybe I'll post a picture of myself wearing them soon.

This morning I was talking to my mom about how I like the name "Bear" and that I'm "Sky Bear". When I was a baby they used to nickname me "Sky Bird" but when I got older I asked them to call me "Sky Bear" because I am bigger and stronger than a bird. Today I was saying that I think I was a bear in my last life. I had warm brown eyes and black hair just like I do now, and I was bulky and strong like I am now. I still love honey and berries, too. I really like bears a lot, and Daddy said the Native Americans (even the Mayans) believe in "totem" animal spirits that look over us. He said that I may have the spirit of a Bear with me. That rocks!

Daddy has been taking me to work with him this week! Today was the second day for me, and I decided to wear a shirt and tie like him. Last night at the dinner table I told everyone that I want very badly to be a lawyer like him. He's calling me his 'legal assistant' today and I'm helping him in three different courts from 10:00am-4:30pm. Good thing I brought my educational computer programs to pass the time.

I had a super fun trip with my parents! I had a blast with my cousin, Zoe, at her house, and finally got to meet Andrew's friend (and fiance', heehee) Ragini, and see a lot of other kids I didn't know at the reunion. Now I can't stop talking about our upcoming trip to Colorado in August :-)

Summer Soccer Camp

Woo Hoo!! I'm doing my KU WeeKicks Soccer Camp this week. I was so excited to arrive this morning and see my very best friend, Freddy was enrolled, too. His dad is usually the coach of our year round league. Freddy and I were in kindergarten together and we're always hugging, wrestling, or playing soccer. I was missing him a lot this Summer.

We're playing in a huge indoor astro turf arena the size of a football field. I got my own, hand stitched KU Soccer ball :-) Our teachers are University of Kansas coaches and players and it's going to be so awesome- it rocks and so do I!

Life is Tasty

I have been home with Mommy for four days now while my big brother, Andrew keeps going to Summer Camp at the park. I miss him a lot and can't wait until I start my soccer camp next week. My brother Liam has been going out every afternoon to lunch and parks with homecare workers, while my sister, Sorin has been working at the Cordley Clothing Room every day (it's a place families with low incomes can go to buy clothing). I feel like all I have to do is wander the house, hug Mommy one hundred times, and ask how many minutes are in one, two, two and a half, and three hours (I love counting and numbers!) Sometimes Mommy takes me to the store, but that's pretty boring unless I get to look at toys. Today I'm working on puzzles and spelling.

I love eating. Last night during dinner I told my family that I wish everything, and I mean EVERYTHING in my house and in this world were made out of food. I could nibble on the stairs and walls, trees and cars, and food would be everywhere. I wouldn't eat everything because I don't want my house or school to disappear, but I could lick them all the time and it would be heaven to me. My big brother, Andrew said I could get fat if everything were food and I ate it a lot. He also said if I were fat I couldn't play soccer and run fast (that would be yucky because I love to do those things). Mommy said I could still play soccer if I was fat because I could be the ball and they could roll me across the field.... that was pretty funny, but I wasn't laughing about it as hard as everyone else. I want to play sports and eat a lot....can't I do both?

I'm talking a lot about the concept of 'pouting' today and what it's all about. I had a discussion with Sorin and Mommy this morning and I'm pretty sure I never pout (although Mommy disagrees strongly). I think pouting is very funny and don't know why anyone would go to the trouble of crossing their arms, scowling and sticking their bottom lip out. It looks silly. Why not just keep complaining until you get your way? That's my system, and when it doesn't work I just wait and try again later.

I've been thumbing through my parent's National Geographic magazines today and learning about Iceland. I love maps and learning about other countries and cultures. Iceland seems like a cold country, but it's very, very beautiful. I'm also looking at pictures of a giant subatomic particle machine that's searching for the "God particle". The machine is at the France-Swiss border and they are trying to find the smallest pieces in the universe. I love science! I'd better go so Mommy can read some of the articles to me. In a perfect world my magazines would taste like peppermint so I could lick them.

My Best Buddy

This is my Sleepy Sheep, and I call him Sheepie. he is my best buddy at home and I carry him everywhere. My Grammy Lin gave him to me about two years ago and I have always loved him. He is playing chess with me, and sometimes I bring handfuls of grass inside for him to eat at bedtime (that makes him very happy).

Notice how he's carefully contemplating his next move. he's a great chess mate!

In this picture Sheepie was telling me "I'm gonna bring you down, boy! I'm the greatest chess player in this family- watch out 'cause I'm on fire!!!!!!!" He was bragging a lot, and then he lost.

My new chess board arrived today! No more plastic chess pieces for me...this one's all wood, and I love it! When I first opened the box I hugged it :-)

After the affection it was time for setting up the pieces...

Now I'm ready to play, but Mama doesn't like chess, so I'm playing with Sheepie until Daddy gets home. That picture is coming.

Nice to Meet Me

I'll say, it's about time I had my own blog! Mama says I'm old enough now to start adding my thoughts, pictures and words to a web log. I finished up Kindergarten two weeks ago and now I'm at home with Mama reading books and looking at my new chess board. The board arrived in the mail today, and Daddy & I plan to play so many games with it!

My brother, Andrew, is at a Summer Camp for two weeks. I have to stay here at home because next week I have a week long Soccer Camp at the University of Kansas. After that, I'll start the Summer Camp that Andrew is at and he'll be at home with Mama for a while. We both love our time alone with her.

My next post might have my best friend, Sheepie, in it. I'd like to introduce him to the world because I try to never spend a moment without him.
